Dark Roast Coffee

That’s right! Embiggen Books has finally opened its coffee cart for business. We have spent this year perfecting our cart and sampling a lot of coffee. We were searching for the coffee we had been missing, a dark continental roast more common to Italy and Germany than Australia. We chose Coffee Basics from Castlemaine, produced by Edmund & Elna Schaerf-Trauner. The Schaerf family have been coffee roasters in Europe for decades and they were kind enough to develop a unique blend especially for Embiggen Books – so come and give it a try.

Dark Venezuelan Chocolate

If finding the right coffee was hard, finding the right hot chocolate was even harder. It was tough research but we rose to the challenge and found what we think is the best hot chocolate anywhere. We sampled chocolate and recipes from all over the world. We wanted something not too sweet, not too thick, and without the powdery texture of a cocoa blend – just a perfect, lush Venezuelan dark hot chocolate developed by Melbourne’s own family run Xocolatl. Oh my it’s good!
